Photographer Job Description

 

Mission Statement

Camps that provide a safe week of happy memories, building self worth and confidence, learning life skills, and creating hope for the future, for children who have experienced abuse.

Role and responsibilities

  1. Demonstrate competent and creative camera skills.
  2. Be able to work under pressure to provide photos daily.
  3. Provide a minimum of 30 photos of each child at camp.
  4. Photos varied in content to provide a storybook pictorial for each camper covering as many events and good moments as possible. No other camper is to be identifiable in photos.
  5. Set up shoebox for each camper. Put individual photos into box each day, ready for buddies to scrapbook at night.
  6. Process photos daily. Have ready for gofor each day at agreed time.
  7. Interact in a gentle, positive manner with the children.
  8. Be able to build trust with children.
  9. Unobtrusively record the daily actions at camp.
  10. Record a group photo of adults at camp.
  11. Provide individual portraits of all adults at camp to be displayed on notice board with names attached.
  12. Take photo of every camper with buddy and name banner immediately as they get off the bus. (3 printed copies 1st set  to go on wall, 2nd set to be used to identify each campers photo shoe box and 3rd for campers Memory Book.)
  13. Provide key photos of as many activities as practical including - Drama Team/Puppets Team/Music Team.
  14. Enlist the help of 2-3 others to help record activities when they are happening simultaneously.
  15. Provide photos to be used for publicity and promotion (these cannot show children’s faces).
  16. Photos to be stored on DVD after camp.
  17. Remain at camp for the full duration.
  18. Attend daily staff meeting with Director as often as possible.
  19. Produce slide show of graduating children for Thursday night.
  20. Produce slide show of camp to be shown to parents at short presentation on return from camp.
  21. Plan photographic coverage and assign helpers to events.

  • A list of Graduating campers
  • Names of the camper/buddy pair ups
  • Names of staff and their designations.
